TOKYO, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Tuesday morning as investors bought back issues oversold recently, with sentiment bolstered by solid domestic earnings reports.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 166.53 points, or 0.79 percent, from Monday to 21,316.33.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 12.73 points, or 0.80 percent, at 1,602.29.
Pulp and paper, consumer credit, and machinery-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
